Today when I was down in the barn milking and listening to the radio, I heard them mention something and then I felt Holy Spirit take it and kind of run with it. What they said was this…that with all of the chaos in the world right now, it’s good to be reminded that God is still in control.
That was where Holy Spirit grabbed ahold of it and convicted me about what I had just heard. Whether life is or is not going along like we want it to, or if someone is being born or dying, or even in reference to the political situation in our country right now…none of it is a surprise to God.
This isn’t to say that He causes the bad to happen…the bad happens as a result of sin in the world (ours or someone else’s). Sin is disobedience and what comes of it are the natural consequences…and often times those can be really painful. God sees behind and before us and He is there no matter how it turns out. A lot of times people will say, “Oh God is so good!”, or “I am so blessed” when things are going well. And when things aren’t going how we would like them to, we feel like God is against us. If we will listen and learn to hear Him/allow ourselves to hear Him, He will remind us that even though He doesn’t stop us from feeling pain, He does promise that we won’t experience it alone. If we ask him, He will show us exactly where He is/was when we were going through it.
