Jerseys!

I’ve always been told that Jersey heifers are ornery, but tonight they really surprised me. I tied them up while they were eating because one of the wild birds that have taken residence in the barn died in their trough. Not knowing what diseases the birds may carry, I didn’t want the “girls” drinking contaminated water. I came up to the house and knew that hubby would change out the trough. When “E” went down to clean their stall, he came back up and informed me that they had gotten loose (just in the stall) and were drinking out of the trough! None of the humans had untied them, so, somehow both of them got off of their lead ropes on their own. Erg!
